Jody Phillips is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the Duval County Clerk of Courts. With over 35 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Jody has the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully lead as Clerk of Courts.

Jody began his career in the highway construction industry, showing his leadership by overseeing offices throughout the state of Florida. For the past nine years, Jody has served in the Duval County Courthouse, where he created long-lasting relationships and gained valuable experience that is crucial to leading the Clerk’s Office.

 

Jody is the only candidate with the management experience to lead an organization of the size and complexity of the Clerk’s Office. He has exclusive insight as to what it takes to run the office and will not require on the job training.  Jody has established relationships with peer counties and the Clerk’s Associations.  Jody has real experience, real leadership, and real integrity to address the issues facing Clerks throughout Florida.

 

A native of Jacksonville, Jody attended Edward H. White High School and is proud to raise his family here. He enjoys spending time traveling with his loved ones. Jody’s most cherished role is being a devoted husband to his wife of 34 years, Susan, and as a proud father and grandfather to his two children and four precious grandchildren.
